Roof inspection after hail: what to do before you file a claim

Hail season in DFW is not a maybe. Inspect, photograph, and get a contractor on the roof before you call the carrier.

A Dallas–Fort Worth hail cell can bruise a ten-year roof in twenty minutes. Filing a claim before anyone has been on the roof is how homeowners end up with a denial, a partial, or a repair that leaks the next spring.

Look, then document

From the ground: granules in the gutters, cracked pipe boots, dented AC fins, bruised fence caps, cracked windows. On the roof (or with a contractor who will get on it): shingle bruises, lifted flashing, damaged ridge. Photograph everything with a date.

Get a real inspection, not a knock

Storm-chaser door knocks are not an inspection. We inspect the roof, siding, gutters, and windows as a system — because a “shingle-only” claim often leaves you with open flashing and a wet fascia.

Then file

Once the damage is documented, file with your carrier and keep us in the loop. We work the claim with you so the replacement is the one the house actually needs.
